COVID-19

YOUR FAQS. ANSWERED.

On 30 July 2020, the Victorian Government announced that some Melbourne suburbs would reenter local lockdown in an attempt to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

This means from 9PM Wednesday 1st July 2020, KX Ascot Vale will be temporarily closed.

HOW AM I IMPACTED?

  • All KX Ascot Vale classes will be cancelled from Thursday 2nd July until 29th July (or until the Victorian Government Guidelines change) and your credit/s will be returned to your KX account for future use.
  • Classes will go ahead as planned on Wednesday 1st July 2020.
  • Any active pack will automatically be extended for the duration of the closure. You don’t need to request an extension.

It’s frustrating to be in this situation again, and we thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

(Response Updated: 5:15pm 30/06/2020)

With the Government’s announcement on Friday 8 May 2020 we will see gyms reopening in Stage 2, with exact timing of re-openings to be determined at a state and territory level. Fitness Australia has been working extensively with state governments to develop a comprehensive framework for the safe reopening of gyms.

We expect some states to move quicker than others as we have already seen with the Northern Territory. Fitness Australia will continue to work with states and territories to provide further clarification to the fitness industry in coming weeks.

Currently each State has the proposed dates for Stage 2 below, subject to the Public Health Announcement we are yet to receive. Once we receive confirmation we will email all clients to advise them of our re-open date/s:

What we are doing when we open

It is now compulsory for all KXers to bring their own sweat towel to studio. Our Trainers will be monitoring this in every class. Should you forget, we will have a limited range available for hire in studio.

Our water taps and drinking fountains will be temporarily closed in the studio. Please make sure you bring your own pre-filled water bottle to class.

We have temporarily reduced our cancellation policy to allow you more time to reschedule without charge if you are feeling unwell.

As always, we will continue to distribute antibacterial wipes or spray at the end of every class. These wipes are specially formulated with a disinfectant that stops virus, bacteria and germs in their tracks, helping to prevent the spread of colds, flu, and other contagious infections in our studio and have been tested against Coronovirus.

We will be encouraging all clients to thoroughly wipe down their reformer bed (including foot-bar, shoulder pads, head-rest, straps, carriage and platform), dumbbells, poles, ring, ball, mats, box and jump-boards after every.

Trainers will wash their hands with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds before and after every class.

Trainers will be wiping down doors, reception desk, iPad, lockers, pigeon holes, taps and bench tops three times a day (morning, lunch and evening).

If available, trainers will be offering hand sanitiser to each client at the start of every class.

There will be no communal magazines available in studios.

There will be no fruit available in studios.

Studios will no longer be offering water to clients through cups. Please bring your own pre-filled water bottle to class.

We will be reviewing our schedule morning and night and will contact you should we require classes to be merged.

If our Trainers are unwell, they will not be running classes to minimise the spread. This may mean that classes will be canceled if a replacement trainer cannot be found.

Any staff that display COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home immediately.

We will deploy our response plan by arranging a professional disinfection and sterilisation of the studio. Credits will be issued for any classes that have to be cancelled. Clients will be contacted when bookings re-open.

We will be following the advice given by the Government to notify any affected KXers where required. Please follow the following government recommendations at https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert

What can you do?

To help protect our KX community you will be asked to stay away from the studio and follow government recommendations. Please ensure you contact your studio immediately. A medical certificate will be required to come back to KX. We will also extend your active pack for the duration of your self isolation.
