Hi! My name is Verity and I am the co-owner of the newest KX studio in Hampton! We’re in the process of completing our finishing touches to the studio and will be open next week – Tuesday 9th June!
I have worked for KX for just over two years now and have well and truly moved through all the ranks. I have gone from a client, to a KX Retreats guest, onto a casual KX Receptionist, to KX Studio Manager of 3 studios and to now co-owner of KX Hampton!
My journey with KX began in 2013 where a friend and I just had a “good feeling” about going on a KX Retreat to Bali. Sure enough we both walked away from the trip with new jobs! I was the Customer Service Manager at Genesis Port Melbourne and whilst on the Retreat had a time of reflection that 4 years there was enough.
I’ll never forget that last day in Bali where I mustered up enough courage to flag down my now boss and soon to be business partner Eli Censor (KX Cycle co-founder, and KX Pilates Richmond, Brighton & Camberwell co-owner) in our morning 5km run. Was there a possibility of some casual reception hours? Well yes! KX Richmond was in a time of boom and needed some help on weekends.
At the end of 2013 I was coming to the completion of my Business Marketing degree where I was also finishing a Cadetship in Marketing at the Western Bulldogs Football Club. I was lucky enough to have the Western Bulldogs offer me a permanent fulltime role in their Commercial Partnerships department – but that would have meant I’d be giving up my casual role at KX.
My job with KX was one of those absolute cliché cross roads that generally happens only a few times in your life. Follow your heart or follow your head. Never in a million years did I expect Eli to offer me a full-time role at KX managing her 3 studios – Brighton, Richmond & Camberwell. I politely declined the Bulldogs offer…and the rest is history!
KX Hampton is an absolute dream come true. Lets be honest we all fall in love with the KX style of training. It makes us longer, leaner, fitter and we feel good about ourselves when our clothes become looser or fit better. No matter how many classes you go to, every instructor is different and every class has a different sequence to keep us entertained for 50 minutes! I felt that being a part of a studio from an ownership aspect was just the natural next step in my career with KX.
Eli and I joke about being the ‘parents’ of KX Hampton and I well and truly call it my baby. We’ve spent a lot of time on the design of the studio to make it bright, fresh and welcoming. Think polished concrete, copper, reclaimed wood and two whole walls dedicated to nearly floor to ceiling windows. We can’t wait to open the studio to offer KX to the South-East Baysiders!
KX Hampton, located at Level 1, Suite 2, 249 Hampton St opens Tues 9th June, and to celebrate, we are offering an exclusive opening special:
5 classes for $25 (use within 14 days)!!
Come along and try us out – we’d love to see you in the studio!
