One week in and I thought I’d post an update on the latest news on the KX Sydney Flagship studio. But in short we are now OPEN FOR BUSINESS! There were late nights, many frustrations and even some arguments. Andi and I even had to pick up the paint brush and get our hands dirty. “You need to stick to Pilates!” I believe I was told by one of our builders! But it was all hands on deck to meet our opening deadline, and we did it!

And let’s just say…that on our first day – or the first week in fact – the studio was far from perfect. But that’s what ‘soft’ openings are all about, right?

If you missed my last write up on the lead up to the opening of KX Sydney a few weeks ago – you can read it here.

Today’s post is mainly an ode to all of the people in my life that have helped me get to where I am today. I believe life is all about questions, stories and relationships. Ask the right questions, tell the right stories and build the right relationships and you can achieve anything you want. So today I touch on those relationships…

First and foremost I want to thank all of our clients, as without you, KX would simply not exist. You are the reason why we love coming to work each and every day, and look forward to coming back to work tomorrow. It is your energy, your excitement and your passion for health and fitness that we as trainers feed off, and with our superstar team of trainers I’m sure that is reciprocated. Not to mention your love for KX too!

Which brings me to my passionate team of dedicated trainers and staff (and on a side note I think we have just recently cracked the 100 KX trainer mark!). It’s not an easy process to work for KX and we have pretty strict criteria that has to be met, even down to personality type and how much you smile! It doesn’t matter how skilled you are, if you’re ‘not KX’ you’re just not KX. Our trainers are absolute ROCKSTARS and it’s great to see we are just all one big happy family. Thank you for being such amazing individuals, superb trainers and for looking after our precious clients.

KX HQ Staff are the backbone of how KX operates behind the scenes, and without them we would have never made it past studio number 2. Amie (our Training Manager) left her UK shores and moved to OZ to join KX. It is because of her that our KX Academy exists and that our trainers are so bloody good! Eliza (our Area Manager) will put a smile on your face and drop everything to help you out in a heartbeat. Eli (co-owner of multiple studios) came on board at just the right time to excel KX even further; a young entrepreneur to look out for in future as she’s only on the way up!

Andi (our Marketing Manager) who’s attention to detail and systematic mind is one I will never comprehend, but is the reason why our business systems exist and why every piece of KX collateral looks so perfect. Rachael (KX Barre Manager), James (KX Running Coach) and Jolene (KX Yoga Manager) who believed in my vision to add new offerings to the KX Group and who are doing nothing but succeeding. And lastly our Studio Co-Ordinators, Sam, Verity and Chelsey who are just so professional in their day to day operations, and when you call you know the phone will be picked up and your question answered.

Let’s be honest, none of us were qualified in running and growing a business, let alone multiple brands. But we work hard, we learn and adapt and I think we do pretty well. Not to mention that we have a lot of fun along the way!

Now to my Studio partners or Franchisee’s. The first people that believed in my vision enough to start their very own studio. Thank you. You are absolutely dominating and I see your passion for KX and am so proud. It has been so rewarding to see you achieve your dreams of owning your own business and I look forward to many more years of sharing success and fun times with you.

And finally to my family and friends. Thank you for believing in me and for your continued support. You know who you all are. When I told you all about my plans for KX five years ago, not one of you laughed or said it wouldn’t happen. I didn’t think it wouldn’t happen either.

Below are some shots of the KX Surry Hills studio before and after. Believe it or not, the first shots are of the studio only 4hrs before we opened our doors (at 3am in the morning)!

Train hard, eat clean and to all of the supporters of KX out there, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
